So what exactly is "Westerns" ?
The Western Challenge Cup is a Best on Best tournament held every year after our season.

The tournament includes teams from all the local minor Ball Hockey Associations plus teams from Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba

Players from our league that are interested in trying out can register on our website. There is a $30 fee to register.

Every player that tries out will be evaluated. The best players will be picked for each team based on the evaluation scores. The VBHA board votes on the teams.

Even if you don't make the team, it's a great experience. Extra floortime in a skills and drills setting.

Coaches can also register to coach one of the teams. If you are interested please reach out with any questions to president@vbha.com. You do not need to be coaching a team in our current season to apply to coach a WCC team. The application form is here

The VBHA board will vote on the Head Coach for each team.

For the current WCC policies and procedures click here.

Please be aware that VBHA does not cover any costs for this tournament. Families must cover all travel costs and team fees.

If selected to a team, you are committing your time for extra practices and exhibition games during the season. You will be on two teams, your regular VBHA team and the WCC team.

Coaches are also committing to coaching an extra team.
