VBHA is working on bringing female ball hockey to our association!
 

British Columbia's Ball Hockey leagues are pushing to expand on the success of the Girls ball hockey teams that were created last season. We are excited to let you know that Valley, Metro, Delta, Richmond, Surrey, Tri-Cities and Victoria are offering a Female Only Program for this season.

 

With the female-only program we hope to have:

• Female only skill development opportunities
• Practices & Games throughout the season interlocking with other associations
• Girls only teams playing in Provincials
• Opportunities for high-level players to participate at the Western Challenge Cup
• Female teams represented at the Canadian Juniors Nationals

Females who are interested in playing ball hockey can choose to play in our Co-Ed divisions or our Girls only divisions.

If we are not able to form a Girls team, based on the number of registrants then there will be options for the Girls who have registered. These options will include:

• A spot on a Co-Ed team
• A full refund
• Moving up or down a division to help fill the roster of a Girls team (At the discretion of the VBHA)
• Joining an Inter-league team, as an example Surrey & VBHA make a team together

We are going to do everything we can to make this happen! We need you to register! Don’t wait and see how it goes. The more Girls registered, the easier it will be to form a team. Help us grow the sport of female ball hockey by spreading the word and encouraging some of your friends to join this season. If you are playing another sport, please mention Girls only ball hockey to your teammates.

Can I play in both, Co-Ed & Girls divisions? Yes, however, it is not recommended. There will be scheduling issues when you will have to decide which game to attend. If you sign up for the Girls division, that will be your first priority. This is to help ensure we have enough players for each game and to help make the Girls division a success!
