As we head
into the start of another exciting season, I would like to begin
by extending a most sincere “Thank You” to our Executive Members
both PAST and PRESENT. All of these volunteers contribute
endless hours of their personal and family time to our
association.
Their
tireless effort, dedication and commitment have contributed to
building the foundation of one of the most appreciated and
respected organizations in the sport of Minor Ball Hockey.
Through the vision and ideas of so many volunteers I have been
privileged to be a part of and watch this association grow over
the years from 300 players to approximately 1100 players heading
into this season.
Over the
last few years we have watched our registration increase by 10%
each year. With the growth in our Community, our association
will experience growing pains. Our Executive Members welcome
the thoughts and ideas of the parents and players and will
continue to implement some of these changes for the betterment
of the league. We appreciate your understanding and patience as
you grow with us.
“Many
Hands Make Light Work”. With 65 teams this year an association
this size needs parent involvement. Please, let us know if you
would like to help out. There are several areas that require
volunteers. “Thank you” to the many parents, grandparents,
aunts and uncles who have volunteered along the way and continue
to help out. This league cannot run without you.
Valley
Ball Hockey works with our volunteer coaches and referees to
assist them in acquiring opportunities to take programs like
Speak Out, First Aid, and information clinics. Valley Ball
Hockey continues to find programs to ensure a safe environment
for our players while they have fun.
Please be
reminded most of the referees are OUR young children. They will
make mistakes as they learn and we appreciate your patience and
guidance as this will provide them with the confidence they need
to become great referees.
With
Western, Provincial and National programs available to players
who seek a higher level of game, we want every player to have
this opportunity and aspire if they choose to be a part of one
of these teams one day.
