Message from the President

Well another year has flown by and the Valley Ball Hockey Association Executives are already working hard to get the 2008 season up and running. These volunteers have little down time with the size the Association has become, it is turning into a year round job. I want to at this time extend my thanks to the Executive members who put in hundreds of volunteer hours to make this sport as organized and as safe a possible. There is a lot that goes on behind the scenes with an organization of this size, registration, floor time bookings, scheduling, fundraising, finding coach’s, finding referee’s, scheduling them and so on and so on!

VBHA is a non profit organization that runs on player registration fees and some fund raising. We do not solicit individuals nor do we ask for any type of volunteer time, except perhaps to help run the time clocks or be a team parent. We do though encourage people to participate in our annual pub night which will be announced soon on this web site. You will notice an increase in registration fees this year as our cost for equipment, arena time, player insurance, etc. continues to rise.

We have a couple of new and exciting additions this year, first is the addition of the Tykes division which will include 5 and 6 year olds; this will be a great introduction to our league for these young players. The second is the expansion into Abbotsford, we expect such a large influx of players we are going to cap the registration for that area.

Please encourage the players, coaches and especially the referee’s as they have the toughest job at game time. Most of our referee’s are young and we really need you to help us retain them, they are trying there best to call the game but like everyone else they are not perfect and cannot see the whole floor all the time. Please remember we cannot have a successful league without referees!

The Executive and I hope every one involved has a safe and fun season, if you have any inquires please go to our web site and click on the contacts. We are always looking for feed back good or bad, we cannot fix problems if we do not here about them!

Game On!

Valley Ball Hockey Association

Valley Ball Hockey wants every child to have an opportunity to play.

We want equal playing time for all children, skilled and not so skilled.

Parents and children should learn to be competitive and at the same time understand that the game is meant to be fun..

It’s just a game... meant for exercise and enjoyment!
